< Gary Malin ('71, bass), Bob Winston ('72, guitar), and Bill Pasternack ('71, drums) play in that place where all bands toiled back then — the basement — circa 1970. |

Here's guitarslinger Bob, who,
sadly, died of cancer in 1984. "Funniest story about Bob," writes Bill.
"Back in the 1970s, Bob booked his band,
Shavoo, with Gary Malin on bass and his brother Michael Winston
on drums, for an afternoon concert in the city of New Haven,
Connecticut. Shavoo, by the way, is the Hebrew name for Bob! He pretended
that his band was from England and talked to the audience in a fake
English accent, even though he was really from Lawn Guyland. All those who
knew Bob would have fallen on the floor laughing with that speech!
Robert Winston was a very talented musician and my best friend. I still
think of him, and he was a lot of fun to be around. Michael Winston (PhD)
was a drummer with the Beach Boys and is now a senior executive with a
Fortune 500 company!"

On a ski trip to Aspen,
Colorado, circa 1975 are
Ken Longo, Gary Malin, Bill Pastarnack, Jon Gmora, and, from the class
of 1970, Mark Rosenfeld, older brother of the class of '71's Carol
Rosenfeld.
