That's because Mr. Robert
Perna and his wife, Marlena, would be celebrating their 50th wedding
anniversary just two days later. So we asked them to do the honors of
blowing out the candles ...

But we figured they could
use a little help. So we enlisted the candle-blowing-out abilities of some
of the kids present, child-labor laws be damned! That's Amanda Lerner
(left), daughter of the class of '71's Jill Feldman Lerner and husband
Robert (shown at left), and Cheryl Goldenberg's ('72) daughter Taylor
(shown next to Philip Bashe). Taylor also did the honors of blowing out
the 50 candles on our collective birthday cake at 2004's communal fiftieth
birthday party at Steve's Pier in Bayville, L.I.
