This photo of reunion committee members Philip Bashe ('72) and Larry Licht

('72) is a bit blurry. Guess the camera had too much to drink.

It took the usual ten minutes or so of announcing repeatedly over the PA

system that it was time to come into the main room, and even longer to get

everyone to shut up for a whopping five minutes' worth of introductions of the

reunion committee and teachers, a champagne toast (to friendships old and

new), and, of course, to working those fortune-teller thingies.

Having learned a lesson from reunions past, your reunion committee had

planned in advance for this eventuality ...

We had practically the whole phys ed departent present: Mrs. Karen Schwartz,

Mr. Sy Faitel, and Mrs. Helen DeCollibus Amman. At our request, Mrs. S. broke

out her famous gym whistle into the microphone and ordered quiet.

Still, nada. So for next time, we're equipping her with a baseball bat and giving

her full permission to go all Sean-Connery-in-the-movie-The-Untouchables on

your asses. (For a more contemporary baseball bat reference, see Paladino,

Carl, New York State 2010 gubernatorial candidate.)

Not only did we have plenty of brothers and sisters at the reunion, but cousins,

too. Evalyn Block Merrick ('71), at left, is a cousin of the class of '75's Philip

Dinhofer. And Jacalyn Stanger Dinhofer ('73), in the middle, was married to

Philip's brother (and Evalyn's cousin) Michael Dinhofer ('72), who, sadly, passed

away in 1995. Jackie is mom to Rebecca, a student at SUNY Binghamton, and

Henry, who is currently in Israel, and she's still a virtuoso viola player.

Nice photo of husband and wife Steven Marksohn ('71) and Beverly

Weissman Cogan Marksohn ('72) with Debbi Nathel Kazan. Steven and Bev

live in Manhattan, while Deb traded West Birchwood for East Birchwood.

Fun shot of Kevin, Terence, Catherine, and Maureen Alles, from the classes

of '75, '77, '69, and '73, respectively. The class of '72 fondly remembers their

 late brother Michael.
