Either Newsday or the Long Island Press wrote about Mr. Emil Voigt's 1967–68 ninth-grade Afro-Asian History class, for which he stocked his classroom with snakes, lizards, and tortoises. Unfortunately, recalls Janet, "When kids broke into his room and shoved a broomstick down the boa constrictor's throat, that was the end of the snakes." Nice work, kids.
