What an amazing reunion you constructed, yet again. I appreciated all the details, including the theme items, and the badges and all the memorabilia stuff. I kept promising myself that I would get to the tables of memorablilia, but I never did. In fact, I wish the reunion could have been longer, as there were still folks I didnt' get to chat with. that said...any chance you guys are going to replicate any of the boards and such, on the website? I realize this might be a ridiculous task-but after those badges I think you guys can do anything. Thanks again. — Beverly Weissman (‘72)

I actually think everyone there had a really fun time. I had an absolutely great time, although I am still wondering what that lovely crepe that I missed tasted like. What did they do with all the leftover crepes? Since I live so close, I wanted to ask if I can come tomorrow and eat one (kidding). I thought the best part of the event was the karaoke. I'm looking forward to the newsletters, and the photos. A big hug of a thank you. — Elaine Zetline Lotfi (‘71)

Thanks so much for all the hard work! The reunion was awesosme! — Susan Sugarman Gold (‘72)

I just personally wanted to thank you and the reunion committee for putting together what I thought was an absolutely wonderful day. To see all those familiar faces again after so many years was a real joy. The relationships made during such an important time in our lives really withstood the test of time. Your considerable efforts are greatly appreciated. I hope you can continue to be the conduit through the JHS site that keeps us all connected. A whole-hearted thanks. — Kraig Libstag (‘71)

I had an incredible time. The good thing about three classes is that everything was really pumped up, but the bad thing is it was hard to be sure one found everyone and then had a way of making time to chat, let alone really talk. I was so busy talking the waiter(s) took away my salad before I got to take a bite, that sort of thing. But everyone seemed to be having a blast, and the Cottage was an excellent choice. — Diane Freedman (‘73)

I had a wonderful time. Thank you so much. — Arlene Brimer Mailing (‘73)

What can I say? The reunion was Fabulous!! I really had an awesome time! You did a fantastic job! I would say it was the best one I have been to. Having the 3 classes together was a great idea, as it made it possible to see people that we may have been close with in other grades. I am SOOOO glad I attended it. And to everyone that I didn't get a chance to say goodbye to, I had to leave kind of quickly because my ride was waiting outside, and I looked for people to say caio to ..but they must have been mingling. So..good bye everyone for now... Virginia Ferrante (‘73)

Reflections on a Terrific Reunion:

Many thanks to you and all the other members of the Reunion Committee for a job well done. The Reunion was absolutely fantastic!! Thank you for all of your hard work and planning - it came off seamlessly.

I had a great time last evening at Milleridge Cottage (and then of course at the bar afterwards), re-connecting with old friends, many of whom I had not seen since graduating JHS in 1973!!

For me, some of the funniest stories/ laughs came early on speaking with Steve Kabatsky - who reminded me of some absolutely hysterical moments we shared together while on the library squad and elsewhere (not all of which do I fully remember at this point, truth be told)!! Unbelievably funny. There were many other notable and wonderful conversations/reconnections with folks including Deidre Rasulo, Glenn Handler, Peter Green, Jackie Shachter, Roberta Eagle, Beth Fischer, Meryl Schiffman, Greg Wagner, Peter Feinman, Vicki Monaco, Marilyn Pike, David Lutzker, Jerry Moran, Alan Aledort (talking with Alan actually came closest to Steve K. for generating my greatest belly-laughs of the evening) and of course wonderful recollections with my old across-the-street neighbor on Chemung Place for over ten years, Larry Licht - and many, many others throughout the course of the evening.

I must say that I was amazed at how meaningful this Reunion was to me. In some ways I am not exactly sure why. Almost felt like a coda, perhaps re-living another chapter of high school. As many of you know I moved away from the New York area with my wife and children to the northern suburbs of Chicago 15 years ago, and there we have been blessed to enjoy a peaceful, full and happy life.

We were here on Long Island this weekend for my nephew's bar mitzvah in Stony Brook, and so was able to attend both the bar mitzvah and reunion on same day (with some logistical juggling).

Today (Sunday) I was driving my oldest son Josh to Plainview, where he was to meet up with several of his friends that he spent 6 weeks with this past summer on USY on Wheels (teen bus tour across America for 7 or 8 bus-loads of Jewish teenagers from around the US). Before dropping Josh at his friend's house, I felt compelled to take him on a brief "memories" tour of my own childhood from Jericho. We drove by the two homes that my sister Rhona and I grew up in West Birchwood (71 Orange Drive from 1961-63 ; and then 2 Chemung Place for the next 10 years until graduating from JHS) -after that we stopped by (for the very first time in probably 30 years) and visited Jericho Jewish Center, the synagogue where my family belonged. I wanted Josh to see the sanctuary where I had my bar mitzvah, the Hebrew school class rooms and social hall. Very cool experience for us both. Then of course we drove over to the high school/middle school and slowly drove around the complex, stopping multiple times for stories along the way.

A special experience for my son and me, I must say.

To tell you guys the truth, I was leaning towards not coming, not flying all the way in from Chicago just for reunion event. However, since I was in the area anyway for my nephew's bar-mitzvah, I figured that it must have been "beshert" (yiddish "meant to be") for me to have been on LI this weekend, and so I decided that I had to go.

I am very glad that I did. Thanks again to the Reunion committee for a job well done. I can't wait for the 40th!! At that one I would love the chance to tour the high school, so please schedule that in if at all possible.

Should your travels ever take you to the Chicagoland area, please know that you are most welcome to visit the Sacks clan in lovely, quiet Deerfield, Illinois (about 20 miles north of the Chicago loop).

Best wishes to all of you, my friends. Look forward to seeing you at the 40th. Cheers. — Marc Sacks (‘73)

Thanks for all the effort and good humor you put in. You pulled off a great party. Ah, to turn back the clock. About ten of us adjourned to one of the birchwood homes that night and wound up playing half court basketball, women included. I'd never seen my parents do anything like that after 40. — Ken Kraus (‘73)

Wanted to again compliment you on the phenomenal job you did organizing & running the reunion!! It was really fun catching up with everyone! I don't know how anyone could have done anything other than enjoy themselves!! — Lori Berman Mann (‘72)

What a great event!! I am so glad that I was there. Both you and your reunion committee is to be commended for the excellent and sophisticated event you organized and executed. It was just so wonderful seeing the members of the classes. I remember Celia Felsher and her friends as my first eighth grade class so that most of you went to high school while I stayed in junior high school. Again, thanks for organizing such a wonderful event. — Ms. Maureen Tracy

thanks so much for such a hugh effort and such a nice reunion. I am really glad I went - it was a very fun time. — Cynthia Traficante Stremba (‘73)

Congrats on a wonderful day! — Richard Kaye (‘71)

we had a great time... it was warm & fun and you and the committee did a hell of a job. Everything looked terrific. The place was terrific. The time went by too quickly. Again, thank you for everything! — Arthur Miller (‘74)

thanks for all your hard work and great e-mails. See you again in 5 years! — Cathy Hefter Orell (‘71)

A HUGE thanks for all the work you did on the reunion. It was so much fun to see people I have not seen in 34 years - and to reconnect with old friends. — Connie Sapio Valdez (‘73)

It was great! Thank you so much for organizing it! — Elizabeth Stark Perez (‘73)
